The renovation of Brandon House revitalizes an aging structure at a prominent city intersection while maintaining its historical essence. The elegant tower is enveloped in a sleek bronze-glazed façade, complemented by a carefully crafted streetscape at the base and a striking metal-clad capital at the top. The thoughtfully arranged commercial floor plan maximizes valuable harbour views from the upper levels.

Studio Pacific Architecture was commissioned to refurbish, seismically strengthen, and modernize Brandon House, a multi-story office building from the 1960s in Wellington's CBD. The renovation included adding three levels of low carbon mass timber, raising the building to eleven stories while maintaining the integrity of the existing concrete frame. The refined vertical proportions, resulting from its height and compact footprint, are enhanced by a taut flush glazed glass façade. This design incorporates aluminium negatives aligned with the structural grid to add articulation, soften the glass surface, and emphasize the tower's verticality. The smooth glass and rounded corner enhance the tower's sculptural quality, while the bronze glass color offers a contemporary take on traditional bronze facades. Similarly, the lobby's material palette modernizes classic materials and colors through innovative composition and detail.
